Despite the unseasonable winter, Huron County road crews were kept busy.
In fact, Director of Operations Steve Lund, says they have used more material than they did in 2016.
Lund says that is because of the minimum maintenance standards
He points to snow or ice accumulation, crews still have to put salt or sand down.
Lund says it is too early to tell if they are over or under budget.
However, they purchased 2,200 tonnes of treated salt, which is less than half a normal order for a Huron County winter.
