A celebration of Celtic heritage and three milestones is getting under way at Lions Harbour Park in Goderich.
The 25th annual Celtic Roots Festival starts Friday, also marking Canada's 150th birthday and the 190th anniversary of the founding of Goderich.
Artistic Director of the Celtic Roots Festival Kate Johnston predicts a successful event, largely due to the efforts of more than 300 volunteers who are working the event this weekend.
Johnston tells us every region in Canada is being represented by singers and recording artists.
Performers from several areas of the UK will also take the stage.
Johnston mentions that a limited number of weekend passes and day passes are still available on-line at celticfestival.ca.
She points out that passes cost the same, whether you buy them on-line or at the festival site itself.
The Celtic Roots Festival runs at Lions Harbour Park from today through Sunday.
